Accessibility Statement

We want the Rural Footprint website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or reduced-motion settings.

Last updated: August 2026

Draft: Draft for client and legal review — not approved for final publication.

1. Our commitment

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. No formal audit or certification has been carried out, so we do not claim conformance; this statement describes the measures taken and the limitations we are aware of.

2. Measures taken

  • Semantic HTML structure with a single main heading on each page and a logical heading order.
  • A “Skip to content” link at the start of every page.
  • Keyboard operability for navigation, links, buttons and form controls, with visible focus styles.
  • Visible text labels on form fields, with errors announced through live regions.
  • Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Colour combinations chosen for contrast, with information never conveyed by colour alone.
  • Responsive layouts that reflow on small screens and support zoom.
  • Scroll animation is subtle, runs once, and is switched off entirely when your device requests reduced motion. Legal pages use no scroll animation at all.
  • Content remains visible and readable if JavaScript is unavailable.

3. Known limitations

  • The site is at staging stage; some content is draft and layouts may still change.
  • The survey questionnaire is a preview and has not yet been tested end-to-end with assistive technology.
  • Long data tables may require horizontal scrolling on very small screens.
  • No independent accessibility audit has been completed.

The date of any formal accessibility assessment and the assessor are [Accessibility audit to be confirmed].

4. Feedback and reporting a problem

If you find something you cannot access, or you need information in another format, please tell us at info@face-ireland.ie. Describe the page and what went wrong, and we will respond as quickly as we can. The accessibility contact and the response-time commitment are [Accessibility contact and response time to be confirmed].

Please note that online enquiry sending is currently disabled on this staging site, so email is the reliable route for now.

5. Enforcement and escalation

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may raise the matter with the relevant national body. The applicable enforcement route for this organisation is [Client legal entity to be confirmed] — [Enforcement procedure to be confirmed].

6. Review

This statement will be reviewed and updated before launch and whenever the site changes significantly. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last reviewed.
