Associations

Overview
FACE Ireland brings together the associations and clubs that represent Ireland's rural countryside community — from hunting with hounds and game shooting to falconry, hare coursing, and deer management. Each association has its own traditions, its own community of participants, and its own contribution to the rural landscape, rural economy, and rural way of life.
Through Rural Footprint, FACE Ireland is building an evidence-based profile of each pursuit — measuring its economic footprint, employment contribution, community role, and land management impact. The profiles on this page are part of that work.

Volunteer committees, members and supporters keep organised rural activity running week to week — sustaining local networks, traditions and long-standing community life.

Rural associations help sustain the livelihoods, trades and businesses that keep countryside communities thriving. Their members support local supply chains, create demand for rural services and pass on skills and expertise, while clubs and organisations provide networks that connect farmers, tradespeople, businesses and families. Together, these associations help generate economic activity, employment and opportunity across rural Ireland.

Landowners, clubs and members manage habitat, hedgerows, access and wildlife — including pest control and invasive species management — as part of how each pursuit is practised.
