DEER STALKING & MANAGEMENT
Ireland's leading deer-stalking body
A national association for deer stalkers, bringing together anyone with an interest in deer stalking, deer management or simply learning more about Ireland's wild deer.
The association welcomes stalkers and enthusiasts alike, running a busy schedule of seminars and events on deer management, and maintains committee members trained to respond to call-outs for injured or distressed deer.
Members carry out licensed deer stalking and population management, supported by seminars on deer behaviour and species-specific guides, and volunteer humane-dispatch teams that respond to reports of injured deer.
Deer management sits at the core of the association's work: population control prevents overgrazing and habitat damage, while its call-out teams and seminars are framed explicitly around animal welfare, not just sport.
This pursuit is practised under Irish law and the rules of its governing body, which sets welfare, conduct and membership standards for every affiliated member. Reports of malpractice are investigated and can result in suspension or expulsion.
